Best Spider Web Lace and Knit Looks

The trend of open-knit tops, dresses, and lingerie has opened the door for what was once strictly used for tacky Halloween costumes to be incorporated into your every day wardrobe. We have included knits and laces which appear web-like, gauzy, and stylish. Bulkier crochet items were excluded.

Micheline Pitt in Black Widow dress from PUG
Incorporating this web lace with a more versatile fabric would be like heavenly; however, if one should need a formal gown, this combination from Pinup Girl Clothing is fun.

shawl from Marcella Moda
This delicately hand-knit shawl is so thin and light, it could likely  be worn year-round. Marcella Moda has featured multiple items this year which are comprised of this trending detail.

spider web bra from Marios Schwab
Discontinued
Marios Schwab's collaboration with Asos unfortunately did not last long enough for more variations on his discontinued unlined bra.

Khaos sweaterdress from Morph Knitwear
Morph Knitwear's Khaos dress is a great example of how an open-knit design can be versatile. This dress finds the middle ground between grunge and a neat sweater dress which could be worn for a variety of occasions.

sweater from Isabel Benenato
One of the more casual looks on this list, Isabel Benenato's layered knit sweater is made of hemp--one of the most eco-conscious threads.

spider web lace bra from Agent Provocateur and Charlotte Olympia
Charlotte Olympia's collaboration with Agent Provocateur brings back the web lace bra. Its three section cup construction provides support with a tad of coverage. The threads of which the webs are composed have a slight shimmer.

Micheline Pitt in La Femme en Noir's dress
La Femme en Noir has a variety of pieces with this web lace, but this skirt is special because it allows more versatility in your wardrobe.

Maude Nibelungen's shawl
Maude Nibelungen's Ready to Go Light Shawl is tattered and almost gauzy.

Agent Provocateur's Jet set
Discontinued
Agent Provocateur's Jet collection is sadly gone, but when worn one feels like a super heroin version of Venom. It's not too late for Finn Balor to get into designing lingerie.

Marcella Moda's sweater with sheer topMarcella Moda's sweater with sheer top
Marcella Moda's limited edition hand-knit sweater features a unique yarn on top to create this illusion look.

Hopeless Lingerie's Rosemary braletteHopeless Lingerie's Rosemary bralette
More prominence of the web design would accentuate the unique lace which the Hopeless Rosemary Bralette is composed of, but the combination of floral/nature with the web is rare. It is often not combined with color either--another one-of-a-kind feature.

Morph Knitwear's Dryw sweater
Another selection from Morph Knitwear: the Dryw sweater. It has a unique separation of the collar from the sweater for an off-the-shoulder look.

Victoria's Secret web body suit
Discontinued
This Victoria's Secret teddy was limited edition (released months before Halloween), but it is great to see the lingerie giant exploring this style of mesh as an option.

Maude Nibelungen dress
Maude Nibelungen created this exclusive design for SOTBM. It is made of primarily cotton for breathability but a bit of acrylic for warmth. This would make a great layering piece and features a beautifully scooped back.

Hopeless lingerie's web lace bodysuit
Inspired by classic 80s lingerie, Hopeless' Lydia Romper plunges deep and is high-cut at the hips, elongating the leg. This features the same floral and web lace; however, since the teddy is comprised of so much more fabric, one is able to appreciate the unique webbed look.

Lily Munster in web lingerie (or is it?)
Where would this list be without this infamous image of Lily Munster? Real or not, she would make a great lingerie designer.

Creepyyeha Uri Belt Review

Creepyyeha's Uri belt
Creepyyeha features fetishistic and feminine accessories/lingerie that are handmade in New York. Her designs have details unlike many on the market--these are made to be seen.
After some deliberation, I decided to purchase the Uri belt.

Creepyyeha's Uri belt
My first thought was, "This is heavy." The quality of the Uri belt is worth its price tag, and the leather looks more expensive in person. This unique belt has worn well and is very versatile. The stitches are clean and even. I also appreciate that it closes in the back, rather than the front, to increase the longevity of the leather around the buckles. Its only flaw is my belt only has three belt loops on each side rather than four, as shown on the website. This leaves a few inches of leather and hardware to droop down and forward (rather than laying flat against the waist).

Creepyyeha's Uri belt closures and back
What was not featured on the site was a picture of the "elastic back closure." I emailed Creepyyeha with her website, tumblr page, and Paypal account email asking her what the closure looked like. Even months later, I received no response.

I opened a dispute on Paypal for a partial refund due to the missing D rings. Instead, they offered me a brand new one for free (which I received days after their offer). This was far more than expected. Once I got a response, I had a chance to see their customer service. The missing rings were due to a newer apprentice who was just learning the ropes. She let me know she is not active on her previous emails, and she apologized for the lack of response.

The customer service was questionable at first, and the product I waited weeks to receive was not as pictured. Once all of the misunderstandings were sorted out, the product and service were above expectations. Creepyyeha purchases are worth it if the seller's pictures and descriptions are clear and specific.

What do you have your eye on from Creepyyeha?
As bonus question, have you been able to find great accessories made from high-quality faux leather? Suggestions are welcome!

Customer Service:
The weak-point of small businesses is customer service. Returns hurt them deeper, needy customers take up precious time, and should they feel confronted about their products or shop policies, it is difficult to not take the customers' remarks personally. Many do not offer returns, remind the customer they are a small company when faced with an issue, and structure emails like a carefully crafted argument if the customer is complaining or contradicting themselves. Creepyyeha (as of 3/25/16) does not offer returns for refunds, but when confronted with a fault, optimism and desire to please to a reasonable degree were ever-present. If Creepyyeha establishes a shop email regularly checked, then I wholeheartedly recommend their service should a strict returns policy not be desired.

*These belts have since been sold as they were not practical enough for me, and I felt weird owning leather. Creepyyeha now offers it in a vegan leather option.
